Pink peony blossoms. I got a handful of bright pink peonies from my friend Sara at her flower shop in Laguna Beach and was knocked out by the beautiful hues of pink. I enjoyed them for a week in vases and photographed them at several different stages. Pink is a difficult color to paint -- it can look sickly or bubble-gummy. But I like what ended up happening here with the pink in this painting -- I could burst from happiness!
