Sometimes it's just amazing to paint fruit. You may have noticed that I sneak a piece of fruit in with my flowers and nature every so often. Fruit calls to me the way flowers do -- it has life to it, and it's always changing. Did you ever notice how no piece of fruit ever looks exactly the same as another? The subtle difference in shape and color? Or how a piece of fruit can look so different from one day to the next? I knew I wanted to paint this banana before it got one day more ripe. And yes, I ate it.
